Dr. Elizabeth Hunt
Dr. Hunt is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. Originally from Ohio, Dr. Hunt received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The Ohio State University. She is a published scientific author and has completed research with the National Eye Institute. As part of her optometric education, Dr. Hunt completed externships at clinics such as the Sacramento Society for the Blind, the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute which is consistently rated the #1 eye hospital in the United States. She has been recognized with many honors and awards, including the American Optometric Foundation Carl Zeiss Vision Fellowship; she is a member of the Alaska and American Optometric Associations as well. Dr. Hunt is particularly interested in ocular disease management including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and more. Surgical co-management with ophthalmology is part of her daily routine, including cataract surgery, retinal surgeries, and laser corrections such as LASIK. She finds great satisfaction in making sure patients achieve the best vision possible, whether it includes a specialty contact lens fit, occupational glasses, or a surgical referral when necessary. Dr. Hunt is a photography and outdoor enthusiast, making Juneau an easy place to call home. She and her husband stay busy at home and within the community with their two young children.
Dr. Will To
Doctor of Optometry
Outside of the exam room, Dr. Will collaborates with optometric leaders and organizations to motivate others and create opportunities for those around him. He regularly lectures at educational conferences and colleges of optometry around the country on practice management, career development, and advancing technology in optometry. He serves as the President of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, is on several State Optometric Association committees, and is an American Optometric Association Federal Advocacy Representative. Dr. Will is a Key Opinion Leaders for several industry partners and was recognized in 2019 as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Healthcare Professionals in the country.
Dr. Michael Bennett
Dr. Bennett is a 1983 graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Michigan State University, and his Masters in Neurobiology from the University of Houston. His graduate work in visual development was widely published, including papers in Science and Brain Research. Dr. Bennett has presented original research at meetings of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Bennett moved to Juneau in 1999 from the upper peninsula of Michigan, his home state, where he had been in private practice. He has been very active in cataract and refractive surgery co management and is particularly interested in custom and bifocal contact lens design and glaucoma diagnosis and management. Dr. Bennett and his wife Dianne have three grown children, sons George and John in Naples, Florida, and daughter Allison who lives in Seattle. He is a member of Glacier Valley Rotary Club and the Alaska and American Optometric Associations. In his leisure time he enjoys skiing, hiking, and the spoiling of grandchildren.

Jenica Canaday, CPO
Office Manager | Certified Paraoptometric
Jenica joined the practice in December 2013 as an Optometric Technician and became our Office Manager in 2018. Because of her multiple roles, you may interact with Jenica in several departments during your visit, including pre-testing at your annual comprehensive exam or for other ocular medical testing ordered by our doctors. She has been a Certified Paraoptometric with the American Optometric Association since August 2015, and obtained a certificate in Optometric Practice Management through the University of Houston’s College of Optometry OD Excellence Program in 2019. When not at work she enjoys photography and spending time in the garden with her boyfriend, Chris, and their at-home “zoo” which includes chickens, a turtle, dogs, a cat, and fish. Jenica was raised in Juneau.

Krista Williams, CPO
Optical Manager | Optician
Lindsey joined our team in July of 2018 with five years of prior experience as an Optician and became our Optical Manager in 2019. You will meet with Lindsey or Michael after your eye exam for help in selecting the right frame and lens options to meet your lifestyle, comfort, and prescription needs. In addition to helping patients with frame and lens selection, Lindsey spends her time at the office adjusting and repairing frames, dispensing glasses to patients, and meeting with frame representatives to choose the newest frames for our office. She also trains patients who are new to contact lenses about proper insertion and removal techniques and contact lens care. Lindsey was born in California but raised primarily in Juneau, where she settled down with her husband, Chris. In her free time she enjoys photography, anything crafty, and attempting to learn the guitar.

Michael joined our team in June 2019 with two years of prior experience as an Optician. You will meet with Michael or Lindsey after your eye exam for help in selecting the right frame and lens options to meet your lifestyle, comfort, and prescription needs. In addition to helping patients with frame and lens selection, Michael spends his time at the office adjusting and repairing frames, dispensing glasses to patients, and educating patients about proper insertion, removal, and care of contact lenses. Michael was born and raised in Juneau. After spending some time living in Anchorage, he and his wife decided Juneau was the place they wanted to raise their son, Mason. Michael’s hobbies include lots and lots of family activities. He also likes to build model airplanes, tanks, and helicopters, and never tires of going to the movie theater. During football season you will find him watching the game every Sunday. Go Eagles!!!
Patient Care Coordinator
Laurie joined our team in December 2020 with over 3 years of prior experience in the medical field. As a Patient Care Coordinator, Laurie’s goal is to make sure your visit goes smoothly from first phone call to check out. She will assist in scheduling appointments for you, answer any questions you may have, and will call your insurance to verify benefits before your appointment. Laurie was born in Alaska but grew up in Montana, later returning to Alaska where she met and married her husband, Chad. Four sons and multiple moves later, her family settled on Juneau as home base in 2015. She enjoys baking, watching true crime series, and painting. Three of her paintings are displayed at the Twin Lakes Playground. She is also a lifelong Star Wars nerd.
Patient Care Coordinator
Reese joined our team in January 2022 with years of customer service experience in a variety of fields, including as a grooming manager beautifying the dogs of Juneau. In her role as a Patient Care Coordinator at Lifetime Eyecare, Reese will be one of the friendly voices you’ll hear when you call. Her goal is to make sure your visit goes smoothly from first phone call to check out, including appointment scheduling, answering any questions you may have about your visit, and will even verify your insurance benefits and eligibility for you prior to your appointment. Reese was born in Southeast Alaska, grew up in Washington State, and returned to Alaska in 2016. Outside of the office, Reese enjoys working with animals and photographing the ravens of Juneau.
Patient Accounts Manager
Angela has been with the practice since May of 2013. She became the Patient Accounts Manager in May 2017. Her days at the office are spent reviewing and submitting insurance claims, processing and posting insurance payments, and doing claim follow up to assure your claims are processed fully and accurately. With her prior experience as our Patient Care Coordinator for 4 years, she also oversees and mentors the front desk staff. During evenings and weekends she is currently working towards getting a Health Information Management Coding Specialist Certificate through online courses with the University of Alaska Southeast. Angela is originally from Hoonah and has lived in Juneau since 2009. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, two cats, and being involved with her church.

Michelle joined the practice in June 2011 and started working in our Patient Accounts Department in 2012. Michelle was our Patient Accounts Manager for 5 years prior to changing to part time status allowing her to spend more time with her children. Michelle’s extensive experience in the oversight of different departments within the clinic, including supervising the front desk staff and training new staff, have been a valuable contribution to the clinic. Her days are spent processing and reviewing insurance claim payments and doing claim follow up to ensure claims process correctly. Michelle is originally from Riverside, California, and has lived in Juneau since 2011. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband and children outdoors.
